Windows Phone 7 preview: Not all rosy

20Jul10

Engadget have an interesting and very in depth preview of Windows Phone 7.

Microsoft have a lot to prove with this new mobile OS, if they can’t at least get a foothold in the mobile space against Apple and Google then they are going to be in serious trouble.  Mobile is where all the growth and innovation will be for the next few years and they need in.

Engadget mostly like what they see but with the two caveats that I’ve mentioned before; no multitasking and no copy&paste at this stage is suicide.  Even Apple have got their act together with multitasking so this is unacceptable if they want to take on the incumbents.

Unless they can fix these then they are in danger of being and also ran.

Another problem is the timing of release, the first batch of phones should be out for Christmas.  Clearly they don’t think that anyone interested in a new smartphone has already bought a Desire/Evo 4G/Droid X/ Incredible/iPhone 4 already

  1. I think I am still going to be tempted to say forget any Windows media phone. The main players are still very much Apple and Android, with Android seeming to get that better with each release.

  2. Visit her site now to discover cutting edge, anti-aging skin care products she recommends after extensive research:.
That means that these organic products can be packed with vitamins and antioxidants that
do great things for your skin, such as keeping it hydrated and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
The above are just some of the ingredients any quality skin cream should contain.

  3. Greetings, I believe your website may be having web browser compatibility issues.
When I take a look at your blog in Safari, it looks fine
however when opening in IE, it’s got some overlapping issues.
I just wanted to give you a quick heads up!
    Apart from that, wonderful site!
