Vodafone UK in trouble with Nexus One users

08Jul10
Vodafone is the only UK operator carrying the Nexus One currently, they seem to have missed the whole point of the device though.
N1 fans  are buying the phone with the implicit promise that it will always get the latest version of Android as soon as Google release it.  In fact, Vodafone promised in writing and verbally that this would be the case allegedly*.
But Nexus One users are currently peeved at Vodafone for having modifying the firmware and still not pushing Android 2.2.  Vodafone are citing tests still being performed on the MMS and Voicemail as the cause.
If you want a Nexus One without the hassle, I’d recommend buying the phone only from here and then getting a SIM deal.  It costs more up front but if you were willing to wait for Android updates you would have bought a HTC Desire right?
