Android 2.2 / Froyo: Use your phone as a Wifi hotspot and USB tether

13May10
Froyo is getting me seriously excited, even though I’m going to have to wait a little longer for a HTC Desire release.
According to Techcrunch we can add two new rumours to the feature list:
*Use your phone as a wifi hotspot
*Tether it via USB to your laptop
And here’s what we think is in there so far:
*Improved performance, possibly due to JIT compiler inclusion or Dalvik Turbo
*Full Flash 10.1 support
*Unlocked hardware surprises for Nexus One users, possibly FM Radio (the Desire already has this, it’s essentially the same handset), colour trackball changes
*Some sort of solution for platform fragmentation – separating OS and apps?
*Advances in RAM capacity
*Better graphics due to OpenGL ES 2.0
I’m sure I’ll be making a post on May 19th once we see the Google I/O event
